About this tool
Optical character recognition (OCR) analyzes letter shapes in an image. Select the recognition language, optionally upscale or preprocess contrast, and choose a page layout. The work happens in your browser with Tesseract.js; the script, WebAssembly engine and trained language data load from external CDNs only when you begin.
Handwriting, curved text, poor focus, columns, and decorative fonts may produce mistakes. The tool does not translate languages, preserve document layout, or interpret diagrams. Review extracted text before use.
