ICO files are used for browser favicons and many Windows-style icons. WebP supports lossy or lossless compression and can include transparency or animation; a still-image converter does not preserve every animated frame.

Choose an icon size appropriate to your target application. Small icons lose fine detail when scaled down, so simple, high-contrast artwork often works better than detailed photographs.
