Why export WAV as WebM audio?

WebM can carry compressed Opus audio for web playback. This tool decodes the original WAV recording and re-records the audio with the browser’s MediaRecorder implementation.

Compared with uncompressed WAV, a compressed WebM file is often smaller, but the recording process is lossy and browser support varies.
