Why convert BMP to DDS?
Use DDS when your next application needs texture tools accepting uncompressed DDS data. BMP images often store large uncompressed pixel arrays, so converting them can reduce download or storage size.
The converter decodes the BMP image, applies your selected size or appearance adjustments, and writes DDS output. This exporter writes uncompressed RGBA8 DDS data, not BC7/BC3/ETC2 block-compressed GPU textures.
