About the trim video to webm output

Trimming exports only the requested portion of the source video, rather than storing the complete clip. Review the start and end points, since browser seeking may not land on the exact encoded frame.

WebM export uses real-time browser MediaRecorder. You can adjust dimensions, frame rate and a requested bitrate, but actual encoder and audio capabilities vary between browsers.

Before you download

  • This video workflow does not offer MP4 export.

Practical questions

What does this tool produce?

This tool decodes video with the browser and creates the requested export from playable frames. It does not perform a lossless copy of the original video bitstream. Video export uses browser media capture and recording. Availability of MP4/WebM encoding, soundtrack capture and precise timing depends on browser support. The video input is decoded before WebM output is created; playback support does not guarantee encoding support.

What should I check before using the result?

A browser may be able to play an audio format without being able to encode it. If the encoder is unavailable, the tool should report that limitation instead of creating a falsely labeled file. Check the selected frame time and output dimensions. Long or high-resolution videos can require more memory and processing time.
