GIF to DDS Converter
Convert GIF to DDS using a real file encoder. Control resolution, sharpening and color adjustments, plus lossy quality where supported. Animated GIF input uses the first frame only.
Why convert GIF to DDS?
Use DDS when your next application needs texture tools accepting uncompressed DDS data. GIF uses an indexed palette of up to 256 colors per frame; this still-image conversion reads only the displayed/first frame of animated GIFs.
The converter decodes the GIF image, applies your selected size or appearance adjustments, and writes DDS output. This exporter writes uncompressed RGBA8 DDS data, not BC7/BC3/ETC2 block-compressed GPU textures.
Before you download
- If the original image is animated, this still-image converter does not preserve the full animation. Use a frame or animation tool when you need every frame.
- The result is an uncompressed texture file. It does not provide BC7, BC3, DXT or ETC2 GPU compression.
Instructions
- 1
Select a local file or enter your input.
- 2
Choose the available options and run the tool.
- 3
Review and download the output.
